  • review time

Well, it's time for the yearly reviews... not going to discuss the details here. But I did get the review from my project leader today (and thank god he's not the only one sending reviews to my manager), and it did make me think. I really do not want to work with him anymore. He is a nice guy, I'm sure he knows his science, but if I have to work with him for another year, I'll end up with a breakdown. Point is, if I do not get on another project straight after this manufacture, I'll be putting my CV out and try to find work somewhere else.

  • It's been a long time

Well it's been an awful long time, since I last posted. I've been kind of busy, and been not really feeling up to writing anything. There's been preparation for the next manufacture (which also means I'll be on shifts from Monday on), training and I did get World of Warcraft for Xmas (my present for me, the only one I got), so I spent a lot of time playing that as well. ANd oh, I've been more often in the cinema this year alone, then probably the last 4 or 5 years together.
Apart from that, I spent a lot of time talking with a friend in Northampton. She's pregnant, and so far everything's going well. I keep my fingers crossed (she lost a baby before...).
Well work is mostly annoying. It's just not my thing being "second in command", especially if your senior manager is a bit nervous and doesn't cope well with the stress of responsibility. But alas, I've got to get through that.
Performance reviews are also coming up, though I haven't got a clue how to organise mine. I haven't seen my line manager this year (I have heard rumours, that he's on unpaid leave, to set up a pizza shop, and then will be on part time, once he is back). I did put it to the senior manangement, that I'm not happy about this (especially since I haven't been told anything about my line managers change in working hours). Being on shifts means, I will only be in 2 days during daytime hours within a 8 day period (we are doing 12h shifts, 2 days/ 2 nights then 4 days off), and those fall on weekends quite a few times. I've been working my arse off last year, and I really want that recognised, before the pay rises for this year are decided. Not that I am expecting much, given that crawling up other peoples back sides isn't a strong side of mine...
So basically all's the same as before, though I have to say I do feel happier since I decided to give up on relationships a couple of months back. Don't feel less lonely, but it hurts a lot less.
